AUSTIN, Texas —

An Austin teen is now the owner of a new SUV, thanks to a partnership between Just Keep Livin' Foundation, Riptide Society and Austin Subaru

Yamileth Lemus, a recent graduate of Navarro Early College High School, comes from a single-parent household and her family doesn't own a vehicle.

"It's going to provide me reliable transportation. I'll be able to transport to my college," Lemus told KVUE. "I will be able to take my mom wherever she wants. It's a great blessing."

Lemus was picked out of hundreds of other teens who were nominated through the Just Keep Livin' Foundation.

"Yami is one of our top students of the class. She graduated fifth in the entire senior class," one of Lemus's teachers said. "She also doesn't just do the after-school program with Just Keep Livin' – she does Women Who Weld, she mentors young girls in elementary schools. She's just an amazing kid, and I just knew that she just deserved this so much."

Lemus plans to study Computer Engineering and hopes to go to University of Texas at Austin.
