The Sunfield Community in Buda has sunshine of its own, through one of its residents, Holly Place Durham, who like her name suggests - loves Christmas.
"It's just magical, just magical," Place Durham said.
Five years ago, the Santa mailbox in her front yard served as nothing more than a friendly holiday decoration.
That was until she noticed a child passing by and placing a letter inside, prompting Holly to try something new.
"So I posted on a Sunfield community and I said, Santa's collecting letters and that's how it all started," Place Durham said.
Place Durham decided to work as one of Santa's helpers, returning each letter with a personalized note from Santa with a candy cane and stuffed plush. Kids open their letters and see Santa is working on something very special for them.
"I've seen these set of three siblings ask for mom to have a healthy baby sisters, when the mom was pregnant and she wants a healthy baby sister, that touched me, so that was nice," Place Durham said.
This year, Place Durham got more than 500 letters from everyone, including children, grandparents and even fur babies.
After all the letters were collected and delivered, the elves caught the Grinch trying to hijack Christmas. Luckily, elf surveillance video caught him and the kids knew Santa got all their wish lists because he answered all of them.
"It touches my heart to see how innocent and just how amazing our future is because of these children because they have so much hope, they have so many dreams. It's amazing," Place Durham said.
It's proof that Santa's help can come anywhere from anyone, even those far from the North Pole.
