If you've been hoping to add a fur baby to your family for the summer, now is the time.

The Austin Humane Society announced Wednesday they're offering free adoptions on all cats, dogs, kittens and puppies Saturday, June 17 through Sunday, June 18.

“Summer is always a busy time for us as we are still in the heart of kitten season plus it’s an active time for puppies too,” says AHS Director of Communications, Ericka Miller. “We hope by offering free adoptions on all our animals, they’ll find their perfect homes more quickly and we’ll free up some kennel space in order to help more animals in need.”

The Humane Society said all of the animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped, spayed and or neutered, and have heartworm prevention.

The shelter is located in the 124 block of West Anderson Lane off Georgian Drive. They're open from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
