Southeast fried chicken favorite Bojangles expanding to Austin, report says

Fifty new locations are reportedly on their way to the Lone Star State.

AUSTIN, Texas — A fried chicken fast food chain called Bojangles might be making its way from North Carolina to Austin, according to a report from the Austin Business Journal.

The company reportedly announced that they will be opening 50 locations in Texas, with five being in the Austin area. The report states Bojangles will be targeting the north side of the Austin Metro, which could include Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Georgetown.

The company did not specify exactly when these locations will open up. According to the Austin Business Journal, they will have three investment partners and a restaurant operator for their Austin projects. They currently have locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.

Bojangles does have other franchisees in Texas, but not in Austin. Those include Lash Foods LLC in the Houston area, SAT Restaurant Group LLC and Zenith USA Investments LLC in greater DFW, TXBO Group Inc. in Collin County and Copacetic Group LLC in San Antonio.

The company says they’d like to have over 100 restaurants in the state within the decade, and according to their website, they have more than 760 locations across the country.
