AUSTIN, Texas — One of Austin's most famous restaurants is planning to expand across the Lone Star State.
According to a report from MySA.com, Tex-Mex restaurant El Arroyo plans to open multiple Texas locations.
The first location outside of Austin will open in New Braunfels, Texas. The restaurant's owners say that location should be open by the end of 2023, according to MySA.
As part of El Arroyo's expansion plans, a location will open at Rockin' R River Rides in Gruene, Texas, underneath the water tower. El Arroyo's owners bought the tubing company with a friend last year and are turning an existing structure on the property into a two-story El Arroyo, MySA reports.
Rockin' R is already offering event planning and catering from El Arroyo ahead of the restaurant's completion. The restaurant's owners are also already scoping out sites for other Texas locations, with plans to open "probably six" in the coming years, MySA reports.
The owners don't know yet if they'll be taking the restaurant's famous marquee across multiple locations, nor if there will unique signs at each future location.
