AUSTIN, Texas — A 29-year-old Austin entrepreneur has made Forbes' 2024 "30 Under 30" list, under the "Consumer Technology" category.
Jonathan Newar is the cofounder of Captain Experiences, an online platform that helps adventurers book guided hunting and fishing excursions. Newar got the idea for the company when he was tasked with booking a fishing trip for his friends and he realized the need for a platform to help connect people with outdoor sports guides.
Newar told Forbes that Captain Experiences has wracked up more than $8 million in bookings for more than 30,000 customers since its launch in 2020. Those bookings helped customers get outdoors for approximately 200,000 hours, according to Newar.
Forbes reports that Captain Experiences has secured $4.6 million in funding from investors like Bullish, Goodwater Capital and Andrew Chen of Andreessen Horowitz.
