Keep Austin Local: Casa Costa Bake Shop

Try out Portuguese, Brazilian, American-inspired food while supporting local.

AUSTIN, Texas — KVUE wants to help “Keep Austin Local” by highlighting the local businesses, events and people that make Austin special.

On Wednesday, KVUE stopped by Casa Costa Bake Shop in Leander that has been around for four years.

Casa Costa is owned by mother-daughter duo Donna and Katie. They offer original homemade recipes from their multi-cultural family from the U.S., Portugal and Brazil.

Casa Costa Bake Shop is known for its custom cakes, wedding cakes, scratch-made pastries, strong Brazilian coffee and brunch menu. On the menu, you can find Portuguese-loaded fries, empanadas, fried yucca, quiche and more.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused them to become more creative with ways to make money including selling groceries, creating cookie decorating kits and prepping family meals. Right now, the bakeshop has struggled with being understaffed. They are hiring!

The owners of the bakeshop want people to know they are a family-owned/female-owned small business. Everything they make is fresh from scratch with love.

You can find Casa Costa Bake Shop at 201 Bagdad St. in Leander or online.
