Keep Austin Local: Red Leaf School of Music

Learn a new instrument while also supporting local.

AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texans have seen many businesses shutting down because of the COVID-19 pandemic. KVUE wants to help "Keep Austin Local" by highlighting small businesses that might need a little help.

On Friday, KVUE stopped by Red Leaf School of Music which opened in April of 2007.

Red Leaf had to shut its doors for a while because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They had a combination of teachers pivoting to remote lessons from home, and students taking breaks. Some lessons completely stopped, and for many reasons business dropped off. The owner of Red Leaf, Geno Stroia, decided to double-down and remodel their location.

“We believe that music, live music, lessons and people’s desires to learn them will not diminish," Stroia said.

Red Leaf offers music lessons for adult and children including guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice, mandolin and songwriting lessons. They also have rehearsal space for professionals available.

Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.

“We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our students and their families," Stroia said.

You can find Red Leaf School of Music in South Austin between Ben White Boulevard and Stassney Lane at 4800 S. First St. or online.
