Keep Austin Local: Teal House Coffee and Bakery

Try quality coffee and delicious baked goods while supporting this family-owned local business.

AUSTIN, Texas — KVUE wants to help “Keep Austin Local” by highlighting the local businesses, events and people that make Austin special.

On Monday, KVUE stopped by Teal House Coffee and Bakery. The shop started in 2016 out of husband-wife duo Lance and Andy Phillip’s home. The couple started selling cinnamon rolls to their neighbors on Father’s Day weekend. Then, they scaled to a food truck. They still have a trailer, but also have a store front.

Other than their very popular cinnamon rolls, Teal House Coffee and Bakery offers kolaches, croissants, sandwiches and more. The baked goods are made fresh throughout the day and they use Medici Coffee, a local coffee roaster.

The owner, Lance Phillips, told KVUE that people rallied around them through a pandemic to see their dream of a store front come through.

You can find the Teal House Coffee and Bakery online here. The trailer is located at 1716 E. Slaughter Lane, and the store front is at 2304 South Congress Ave.
