H-E-B giving away eco-friendly reusable bags on Sunday to celebrate Earth Day

H-E-B wants to help customers shop more environmentally-friendly by giving away reusable, eco-friendly bags on Sunday, which is Earth Day.

H-E-B customers across Texas will be able to get their hands on some free reusable bags on Sunday, Earth Day, as long as supplies last, that is.

The company announced the giveaway on Friday, saying that they’ll be handing out 185,000 of the eco-friendly bags on Earth Day.

Austin artist Becca Borrelli, who illustrates adult coloring books and pages as a way to make art accessible to all, designed this year’s Earth Day bag.

"H-E-B works year-round to educate our customers about ways to care for our environment – from recycling at home and donating to environmental nonprofits to grocery shopping with reusable bags," said H-E-B Public Affairs Manager Julie Bedingfield in a press release. "We're pleased to share these colorful bags with our customers, and we hope it inspires them to make positive decisions that benefit our environment, making every day Earth Day."

If you can’t get a bag and can’t attend the Earth Day celebration, H-E-B is also in the middle of a donation campaign benefiting EarthShare of Texas through May 1.
