AUSTIN, Texas — Intracorp Projects Ltd.'s 44 East high-rise near Rainey Street officially topped out on Sept. 24, according to a new report from the Austin Business Journal.
According to ABJ, 44 East is set for occupancy by spring 2022. All 309 units within the tower have been purchased.
The project has been under construction since late 2020. Now that the final beam has been placed at the highest point of 44 East, it is now one of Austin's tallest buildings. ABJ reports that two other residential high-rises – The Austonian, at 56 stories, and The Independent, at 58 – are the only other skyscrapers of at least 50-plus stories, meaning 44 East is Austin’s third-tallest building by floor count. However, some buildings in the city have large spires that give them extra height.
Those rankings will shift when 6 X Guadalupe tops out. That mixed-use tower will rise 66 stories at the corner of Sixth and Guadalupe streets.
Meanwhile, ABJ reports that Intracorp plans to start selling the 106 condos at its One Oak project in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood of South Austin within the next few weeks. One Oak will be ready for occupancy in 2024.
