AUSTIN, Texas — A future train line in South Austin already has developers making plans.
Austin-based Graham Development announced plans for a mixed-use development at 7900 S. Congress Ave. It's near where CapMetro plans to eventually build its Orange Line rail route, as part of Project Connect.
A scrapyard currently sits at that location, but Austin City Council members voted to rezone the property two weeks ago.
The plans call for more than 1,200 multi-family units, with about 10% reserved for affordable housing.
The development will also include 210,000 square feet of office space and 136,000 square feet of retail space. A construction timeline has not been announced yet.
