Austin's airport getting more than $17M as part of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

The FAA said money can be invested in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.

AUSTIN, Texas — The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced Thursday it will award $2.89 billion made available by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to 3,075 airports around the nation.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) is slated to receive $17,306,188 under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“The money can be invested in runways, taxiways, safety and sustainability projects, as well as terminal, airport-transit connections and roadway projects,” the FAA said in a press release.

KVUE has reached out to the Austin airport for more specific information on how the funds will be utilized. AUS has a new runway and terminal planned among other projects in its expansion plan.

Airports can submit proposals to the FAA for review in the coming weeks.
