AUSTIN, Texas — As construction continues on Austin's billion-dollar Tesla Gigafactory, the community can expect to get a peek inside in the near future.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently tweeted that the factory would be hosting a "grand opening party with factory tours in early 2022."
Tesla first announced its Austin selection for the factory in July 2020. And Tesla officially moved its headquarters to Austin earlier this month.
The factory will produce the Model Y electric SUVs as well as the Cybertruck. Construction was expected to be completed by the end of this year.
Further details on the factory's opening date and tours were not immediately known. KVUE will continue to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
