The Boring Company, yet another company from Elon Musk, expands into Austin

The site plans filed in Travis County outline the new warehouse to be on Fallwell Lane, near the Colorado River and Texas 130.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Boring Company, another company in the Elon Musk empire, is reportedly adding a second property in the Central Texas area.

According to an article from our news partners at the Austin American-Statesman, the Boring Company is building a 220,000-square-foot warehouse on a 16.35-acre property close to the Tesla headquarters in Austin.

This will now be the second property the tunneling and infrastructure company has within the region, with the first being in Bastrop County. The site plans filed in Travis County outline the new warehouse to be on Fallwell Lane, near the Colorado River and Texas 130.

The campus will also be 10 minutes from Tesla's Austin gigafactory and 15 minutes from the soon-to-be Austin offices of Neuralink, all of which are under the Musk umbrella.

According to the Statesman, this newest filing gives minimal details regarding what the company will do besides the size of the projected warehouse. In fact, it is called a "horse ranch warehouse" and was filed under the name of a "Horse Ranch LLC" entity, but listed the Boring Company's Pflugerville headquarters as the address.

Furthermore, Gapped Bass LLC, another separate entity within the Boring Company, has been buying dozens of acres of property within Bastrop County, signaling more expansion for the Musk empire.

The Statesman found that, in June, the company filed a proposal for a tunnel near the Tesla site, dubbed the "Colorado River Connector Tunnel." This tunnel would have a two-mile, private access tunnel between the two headquarters.

This isn't the first tunnel the company has proposed, as there are multiple projects across cities in Central Texas to create pedestrian tunnel projects. The City of Kyle previously approved a $50,000 professional services agreement allowing The Boring Company to take the initial steps toward building a tunnel to connect Kyle Crossing and Plum Creek.
