Dallas-based data center company set to build facility in Pflugerville

Skybox Datacenters said it intends to invest up to $548 million in Pflugerville via construction and personal property.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — A Dallas-based data center development firm is planning to bring a 141,000-square-foot facility to Pflugerville, according to a report by Community Impact Newspaper.

Skybox Datacenters said it intends to invest up to $548 million in Pflugerville via construction and personal property, per the report.

The Pflugerville City Council approved an agreement between the Pflugerville Community Development Corp. and Skybox at a March 8 council meeting. The development corporation will grant the company up to $1.58 million over a 10-year period but requires Skybox to build a facility before Jan. 1, 2024, secure at least one tenant and certify a minimum investment of $50 million to qualify for the grant.

According to a release, Skybox is partnering with Prologis, a logistics company, to build the center. The center will be a 30-megawatt facility, will be supported by two substations and is supplied by Oncor.

Construction of the facility on New Meister Lane and Meister Lane is expected to begin by the end of 2022, according to the report.

“We look forward to working with Skybox Datacenters and Prologis on this project that is bringing significant investment, infrastructure improvements and a solid tax base for the City of Pflugerville,” PCDC Executive Director Amy Madison said.
