Mixed-use development planned for East Fifth Street in Austin

The development, located at 2700 E. Fifth Street, will include 625 apartment units.

AUSTIN, Texas — Hundreds of new apartments will soon be built in East Austin.

Lincoln Ventures, an Austin-based housing developer, announced Monday that it plans to build a mixed-use development at 2700 E. Fifth Street. The six-story, 767,725-square-foot development will include 625 apartment units.

Additionally, the project will include two levels of coworking space, a café and a grocery store. Amenities will include two outdoor pools, a spin studio, a yoga room, a gym, a pet spa and dog run, and a catering kitchen. The project will also have below-grade parking with direct access to units.

"As East Austin continues to grow along with the city, it’s important to tap into the lifestyle needs of the area, and this project captures that energy by providing a unique variety of environments, services and experiences to the residents and the community," said David Kanne, CEO of Lincoln Ventures.

The residential units will include studios and one-, two- and three-bedroom options, with 10% of the units designated as affordable housing. The project will also include two-story urban row homes and two-story "live/work units," which will offer one- and two-bedroom floor plan options.

Lincoln Ventures is set to break ground on the project in the second half of 2022. It is estimated to open in summer 2024.
