Korean beauty device maker plans to open first US plant in Taylor

The size, scope and exact location of the plant are yet to be determined.

AUSTIN, Texas — A Korean beauty device manufacturer plans to open its first U.S. plant in Taylor, according to a report from the Austin Business Journal (ABJ).

Hironic Co. Ltd. manufactures and sells medical devices for the beauty industry, including devices for laser hair removal, tattoo and scar removal and skin tightening. According to the ABJ, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding to open a new production and sales facility in Taylor. The size, scope and exact location of the project haven't been determined.

Hironic reportedly signed the agreement with the Korean management company Mastern Investment Management Co. Ltd., the city of Taylor and the Taylor Economic Development Corporation "to facilitate Hironic's entry into the North American market," according to the ABJ.

As part of the agreement, the city of Taylor will relay potential real estate options to Hironic and will streamline the development process. The Economic Development Corporation could provide financial incentives, and Mastern will help with acquiring real estate, as well as the plant's design and construction.

The ABJ reports that Hironic said was Texas a preferred region for business because of its available land, resources and business-friendly policies. The company also cited the attention Taylor has received abroad because of the factory Samsung is building there.
