HUTTO, Texas — The City of Hutto wants to make Fritz Park a destination and centerpiece of the community.
At a meeting Thursday night, members of the Hutto City Council voted 6-1 to approve a $1.25 million construction plan to redesign the park.
City documents show that some early site-related design packages could be prepared for bidding as soon as December.
City officials want the park to include infrastructure improvements, as well as an amphitheater, a splash pad, new restrooms and a dog park.
Funding for the redesign will mostly come from a $125 million city bond that voters approved in 2018. About $50 million of that bond was designated for city parks.
