City of Hutto drops lawsuit against former baseball park developer to continue partnership negotiations

Originally, the project was a partnership between the City of Hutto, Perfect Game, Wolverine and Sports Facility Advisory and Sports Facility Management.

HUTTO, Texas — Editor's note: The attached video is from when KVUE reported on the City of Hutto continuing with the development project in October 2019.

A spokesperson for the City of Hutto issued a statement to KVUE on Thursday saying that the City is dropping its lawsuit against Legacy Development, the former developers of the City's new baseball complex.

Here is the City's full statement:

"The City has been diligently working on the Perfect Game project for months, and as the financing deadlines were drawing near there were daily and sometimes hourly phone calls to work through the details.  Last week it became necessary for the City to terminate the contract with Legacy Development in order to secure the initial phase of funding to purchase the land required for the baseball fields.  As Legacy Development has a 90 day curing period, we have dismissed the lawsuit in an attempt to negotiate whether they will continue on as the developer.  We continue to move the project forward and bringing one of the most significant events in the sports tourism industry in the last 20 years to Central Texas."

In October 2019, KVUE reported the City of Hutto was moving forward with the development alongside Legacy Development after they had cut ties with its former investor, Wolverine Interests LLC.
