AUSTIN, Texas — Tech giant IBM is planning to relocate to a new 500,000-square-foot office it has leased near The Domain, a spokesperson confirmed to KVUE.
The new office will be located at 11901 N. MoPac Expressway, close to the company's current foothold in North Austin. The company is planning to move into the new offices by 2027.
The 500,000-square-foot office development, designed by Houston-based architecture firm Munoz & Albin, will feature two 14-story interconnected towers with separate cores and lobbies on top of an 8-story shared parking podium.
IBM will occupy one full tower exclusively, as well as an elevator bank, a private amenity terrace and two of the six floors in the adjacent tower. Amenities will include a variety of outdoor spaces and common areas throughout the project, including outdoor sports amenities, fitness centers, retail spaces and outdoor terraces on every office floor.
Dexter Henderson, the IBM senior location executive for Austin and IBM vice president of power commercial business, released the following statement about the move:
“This is an opportunity to create a modern, new experience for Austin-based IBM employees where they can gather to collaborate and innovate with colleagues and our clients. Our clients are here, and we will be too. We’re excited about being able to continue to showcase our creativity and innovation in North Austin and continue building on our 55-year legacy in this city. We see Austin as an extraordinary center of talent and this investment will establish an even stronger ecosystem for IBM, our clients and partners. This hub will showcase the technologies and consulting expertise IBM clients are increasingly investing in.”
