AUSTIN, Texas — Kim Kardashian appears to be further investing in Austin.
According to a report from the Austin Business Journal, Kardashian's brand Skims, which specializes in women's shapewear, appears to be getting a more permanent setting in Austin after operating from a temporary storefront at Domain Northside.
Kardashian opened a "workshop" at 11700 Domain Blvd., and an official storefront is expected to open this summer at 3121 Palm Way, Suite 124, per a Feb. 12 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The new Austin store would be more than 3,600 square feet, with renovations estimated to cost around $1.3 million, according to the TDLR filing, which is preliminary.
In addition to shapewear, Skims also sells undergarments, pajamas, and a recently added line of men’s underwear. The company was valued at $4 billion last year, according to the Austin Business Journal.
The company operates primarily through online retail, but has efforted growing its in-person retail presence, including making its products available at popular department stores.
Renovations are expected to begin in April, with completion targeted for early July.
