KYLE, Texas — A new mixed-use development called Word Place is coming to Kyle.
City of Kyle leaders recently approved plans for the residential and retail space, which will be located near Interstate 35, between Marketplace Avenue and North Burleson Street.
Those involved with the project say it has been in the works for a long time.
"This critical connection that we, as longtime residents, understand between East and West Kyle, going underneath the interstate to help provide the first real tangible connection on the Vibe Trail of those East and West communities. And we believe it will bring destination retail to the city as well," said Jeff Barton, co-founder of Gap Strategies.
The development agreement also creates a public improvement district to help pay for infrastructure improvements in the area.
