LEANDER, Texas — If you live in the 78641 ZIP code, your location has been ranked as one of the best ZIP codes to move to!
At the end of 2022, in a new study by Opendoor, the City of Leander ranked No. 9 as one of the most popular cities for homebuyers to move to. The study detailed that 49% of respondents were motivated to move somewhere new to have a more affordable cost of living.
The top score correlates to the housing trends that are starting to emerge for the new year. In addition to affordable cost of living driving locations, family and change of lifestyle were the main drivers for locating to cities like Leander.
Besides Leander, four other Texas cities made the list. Cypress ranked No. 7, Forney was at No. 5, New Braunfels placed No. 4 and Katy earned the No. 3 spot. One of the main reasons that five Texas cities made the cut was due to the importance of family.
Half of first-time buyers cited family as the reason to buy a home in the Texas cities due to "proximity to major employers while still being a good fit for families," the study stated.
