AUSTIN, Texas — A new miniature golf course is coming to East Austin.
According to a report from the Austin Business Journal, "Holey Moley" will open at 807 E. Fourth St., replacing the bar and former hostel Native, which closed its doors recently.
Native originally opened in 2017 in one of Austin's historic buildings, combining relatively cheap living arrangements with a bar and space for small businesses to use. At one point, the venue sold beds for cheaper than $50, but its run as a hostel ended after the pandemic and the venue began a focus on dining.
The property on Fourth Street is valued at more than $6 million, according to the Travis Central Appraisal District.
The Holey Moley course is expected to open in November, according to an announcement from its parent company Funlab.
In addition to mini-golf, the announcement said Holey Moley will have food, drinks, event space and "super-vibey, multi-sensory experiences." A June 7 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation gave an estimated renovation cost of $900,000 for Holey Moley's 15,400 square feet, although details in such filings are often preliminary and can change.
