Oaks at Slaughter shopping center nearing completion in South Austin

The H-E-B at the shopping center has been open since June.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Oaks at Slaughter shopping center in South Austin is almost complete.

Construction on much of the new 18-acre shopping center located off of Slaughter Lane and Interstate 35 is set to finish by around October. Construction on other buildings within the center will finish later, according to Community Impact.

Businesses in the shopping center are set to start opening in November, Community Impact reported.

A source who spoke with Community Impact said he could not disclose all of the businesses opening there as they are still going through the permitting process. But he told Community Impact that most of the restaurants and retailers will be locally owned with “a couple of names everyone will know and like.”
