Pflugerville City Council approves new mixed-use development

The development will include approximately 70 acres of single-family homes, 30 acres of parks and open space and 20 acres of neighborhood commercial.

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — The Pflugerville City Council has given the green light to rezone 120 acres of agricultural and development reserve so that the land can be developed into a mixed-use neighborhood. That's according to a report from Community Impact.

Community Impact reports that the council approved zoning for the 120.3-acre tract of land north of Cameron Road and south of Pleasanton Parkway on Tuesday. It will be rezoned to become a combination of single-family residential, mixed-use, neighborhood services and public space, collectively called the Murchison Development.

A representative for the architecture firm Halff Associates told Community Impact that the development will include approximately 70 acres of single-family homes, 30 acres of parks and open space and 20 acres of neighborhood commercial. The park space will include a continuation of the Wilbarger Creek Trail.

According to Community Impact, the director of Plfugerville's Planning and Development Services said the Murchison Development is part of a larger "parks district" planned along Cameron Road.
