AUSTIN, Texas — Touchdown PR is moving its global headquarters to Austin, the firm announced Thursday.
Historically based in the UK, the firm will open a new office in North Central Austin. Touchdown plans to hire 20 new staff members in Austin over the next 18 months, expanding its total headcount to more than 35 staff in the city.
Touchdown has locations across the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia and currently employs more than 70 staff globally. The firm said the decision to move the official headquarters to the Austin office was led by a 50% increase in American revenue this year. America is now the firm's top-grossing region.
“This is all about being based in the best possible location to serve customers,” Touchdown CEO and Founder James Carter said. “Austin not only provides an outstanding communications and PR talent pool but it is also one of the top cities to attract this talent from other states. Attracting the best talent into our business helps us deliver some of the best and most exciting national and global communications and PR campaigns for these customers.”
The firm plans to invest $10 million in talent acquisition over the next five years. Carter plans for Touchdown to be the largest independent PR firm in Austin within that timeframe.
