Tracy Tutor of 'Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles' brings talents to Austin real estate

Luxury real estate agent Tracy Tutor revealed why she wanted to be a part of Austin's booming housing market.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin real estate market keeps growing – so much so that top real estate agents from Los Angeles want to get in on the action.

On Tuesday, luxury real estate agent and star of Bravo's "Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles" Tracy Tutor moderated a panel on the future of home design in 2024. Panelists included principal designer at SLIC Design Sara Cukerbaum, Executive Vice President of Pembrooke & Ives Aaron Dussair, designer, Realtor, developer and architect Joe Boyle and broker associate at Douglas Elliman Austin Matthew Ditlow.

The evening of cocktails and conservation included officials from Stewart & Co., Outward Architecture and SLIC Design at Elliman's newest listing near Zilker Park, 2624 Deerfoot Trail.

Tutor said even though she was born and raised in Los Angeles, she's been coming to Texas since she was 18 years old. She's seen her hometown at the forefront of design and architecture for the past several years. She said now, it's been interesting to see Austin move up the ranks and start to compete with the L.A. market not only in price point, but also in design and architecture.

"It's a very vibrant city, and from the second I landed here, I was like, 'This is probably the most like Los Angeles that I had ever seen.' So for me, it was just a natural fit. I was very attracted to Austin," Tutor said.

Last year, KVUE reported that Austin has the most million-dollar homes in Texas. Tutor said the city has seen a huge amount of growth.

"There's no stopping Austin at this point. Over the course of the last five years, Austin has seen so much unbelievable growth. Even though we're in a little bit of a softer market right now, which is really a national challenge for everybody, there's no doubt about it that we've got entrepreneurs coming to Austin, we've got a lot of business startups and also we've got tech in Austin and we've got a lot more of California's market moving to Austin. So for me, that's a slam dunk. This is where I want to be," Tutor said.

Tutor said being able to sit down at the panel and talk design, architecture and see what's on brand for 2024 is what a lot of brokers, buyers and sellers really want.

"I'll say this: I'm blessed to be here. There are a lot of real estate agents that are doing an incredible job in the market that we are currently in, in Texas. I feel like it's an opportunity for me to learn from them. I don't come in with ego. I don't come into this city having really an understanding of it outside of wanting to learn from everybody," Tutor said.

When asked what's next for Tutor in Texas real estate, she said she has a couple ideas in mind of what could be coming next for Texas and it may or may not have to do with TV.
