NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — Schlitterbahn is in need of lifeguards for the summer and is willing to pay a bit more for the gig.
The New Braunfels water park is upping the pay to $15 or $16 an hour for lifeguards, depending on qualifications.
The waterpark is also looking to hire 500 additional seasonal workers and is increasing the pay for security and kitchen staff too, at $14 an hour and $13 an hour, respectively.
Job opportunities are still available in most park operating areas, including lifeguards, housekeeping, park services, food and beverage, guest services and more, the water park said. The park is looking for a range of applicants of all ages, including students, retirees and teachers.
“We have chosen to increase wages as we know that seasonal associates play a vital role in the guest experience. We are committed to creating fun and memorable times for all our guests,” said Darren Hill, Schlitterbahn general manager. “But a seasonal job at our park can offer so much more. You can gain valuable experience in a safe environment, develop marketable skills for the future and make new friends while being part of something truly special. And our seasonal associates have the opportunity to be rehired for jobs all the way through college and beyond.”
Schlitterbahn said it offers flexible schedules, discounts, reward and recognition programs, free tickets and admission to Schlitterbahn and any Cedar Fair park and a $500 bonus for all eligible associates.
