A pep rally for the state-bound Burnet Lady Dawgs

As they prepare for the state tournament for the first time in the school's history, Burnet High School honored their girls basketball team with a pep rally.

BURNET, Texas — The Burnet Lady Dawgs basketball team will compete in the UIL Girls State Basketball Tournament for the first time in school history.

The entire high school showed up for a pep rally Wednesday afternoon to rally behind the girls in their quest for a state championship.

This has been a season of firsts for this basketball program, including the number of wins – 31.

I'll have a story about those firsts on Thursday on kvue.com and during our sportscast at 10 p.m.

Burnet will face Hardin-Jefferson in a Class 4A state semifinal Friday afternoon, which will take place in San Antonio inside the Alamodome. Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.
