SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. --- A missing 6-year-old girl and her mother were found safe Monday afternoon, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.

Officials had issued an AMBER Alert for a missing 6-year-old girl named Danika Packard, who was pulled from school by her mother Tracy Packard, according to officials.

Danika's father told officials he believed the child might be in danger because Tracy Packard had been acting strangely and stated she was pulling Danika out of class to "go be with the Lord."

According to the AMBER Alert that went out, the car was reported to have been seen on Interstate 90 headed east near McQuire Road in Post Falls, Idaho. However, the car and both Danika and Tracy were found safe near 33rd Avenue and Fiske Street on Spokane's South Hill.

Both Tracy and Danika were unhurt when they were located.

Danika's father told police that Tracy Packard had been acting odd in the last few days. He said the behavior was not normal and he was fearful for their safety.
