Morgan's Wonderland held a private party for a special needs teen who was unable to walk the stage at his graduation.
Matthew Rocha attended the Jewel C. Wietzel Center but his family said his main school was McCollum High School. Earlier this month, Rocha and his family were turned away from graduation because the school forgot to put his name on the list. Instead, he walked the stage at Harlandale High School.
Gordan Hartman with Morgan’s Wonderland saw the story on KENS 5 and wanted to throw Rocha a party, so Rocha joined his family and friends at the Lago Vista Room at the park for the party on Saturday.
Rocha said that the party was even better than any graduation party.
"I graduated fools! Eat that!" Rocha said.
"We are about putting smiles on people's faces and he worked hard to reach the level to graduate. And we figured it would be a great opportunity to celebrate that," said Ron Morander, general manager at Morgan's Wonderland.
Rocha and his family enjoyed their time at the water park and riding the train. The park provided food, drinks, and custom cupcakes from Over the Top Cake store.
