United Nations, Austin-based Logictry partner for 'UN World Logic Day'

The day is a global effort to celebrate the importance of using logic to address current world challenges.

AUSTIN, Texas — Central Texas has become a thriving tech hub. But when it comes to advancements in technology, it's important to keep simple logic in mind.

The United Nations (UN) recently partnered with Austin-based tech company Logictry for "UN World Logic Day," a global effort to celebrate the importance of using logic to address current world challenges.

The day's events were held Sunday at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.

"Using simple logic is about how do we have a better understanding on climate change and the issues we are debating ... how do we get down to the nuts and bolts and the logic behind different opinions on that," said Chris Fronda, the Chief Logic Officer at Logictry.

"We've hosted over 750 people from over 30 different countries, and this actually the largest World Logic Day gathering in the world that we brought here to Austin. Because Austin is our home," said Chelsea Toler, Logictry's Chief Impact Officer.

Former UN ambassadors, investor groups and business leaders were some of the event's many participants.

Organizers also handed out a number of awards, including one to KVUE Daybreak's own Yvonne Nava. She received the 2024 Story Sharing Award in recognition for her contributions in journalism.
