I am thrilled to join the KVUE Daybreak team, anchoring 4:30-5 a.m. and reporting breaking news and social media throughout the rest of the morning!

I come to Austin from Grand Junction, Colorado, where I spent three years on the anchor desk at KREX NewsChannel 5. A morning/noon anchor for the past year, I am used to early days and gorgeous sunrises!

Prior to mornings, I delivered the weekend news for two years while reporting during the week. During my time in the Centennial State, I broke several political stories and covered the 2012 presidential election extensively. This includes two one-on-one interviews with presidential nominee Gov. Mitt Romney, live reports during President Barack Obama's campaign rally and an exclusive interview with political consultant Karl Rove.

My reports both in the field and on the desk span a wide range of issues impacting America, such as the debate over hydraulic fracturing and how communities are economically and environmentally impacted. It also includes hours of live breaking news coverage during the Aurora movie theater shooting.

Prior to Western Colorado, I reported from the red carpet and hosted various entertainment and lifestyle segments in Southern California. I proudly hold a B.F.A. in Broadcast Journalism, as well as a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising, from Chapman University in Orange.

I have an energy and (let's face it) undeniable goofiness that's sure to keep you up and entertained if you catch me before heading out the door during your weekday. Take a moment to tune in as you enjoy your coffee (or tea if you're like me)!

You can also get to know me better by emailing CCoffin@KVUE.com, 'liking' me on Facebook, or following me on Twitter @CoriC_KVUE! Here's one freebie though: I hold a third degree black belt in Taekwondo.
