CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- The assistant chief of the Corpus Christi Police Department confirmed to 3News Sunday evening that Police Chief Floyd Simpson died following a motorcycle accident in Port Aransas.
Simpson became Corpus Christi's 22nd chief of police on March 12, 2012, following a distinguished career with the Dallas Police Department.
