After K-9 Lobos with the Fayette County sniffed out more than $1 million worth of cocaine in the diaper bag of a vehicle Wednesday, a 27-year-old man was arrested, according to authorities.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office said Sgt. Randy Thumann stopped a Ford on Interstate 10 at 2:15 p.m. for a traffic violation. When Thumann said the driver gave conflicting stories and exhibited "extremely nervous behavior," he suspected him of trafficking narcotics.
After searching the vehicle, they found 13 kilos of cocaine in a diaper bag and in the center console of the man's vehicle. Authorities said the cocaine was worth $1.3 million.
Police said Alan Aleman of Mexico was arrested and taken into custody. The sheriff's office said his wife and two small children were released.
