Kyle police make multiple arrests following chase that ended in crash in Austin

Stolen handguns and narcotics were also recovered from a vehicle after the chase.

KYLE, Texas — Multiple men were arrested after a nearly 20-mile-long police chase on Tuesday.

Kyle police were called out to reports of a possible burglary on Bunton Creek Road just before 4 a.m. that involved multiple vehicles.

Police said they were able to locate the suspects, which led to a chase into Austin. Four men then exited the vehicle and tried to escape on foot after their vehicle crashed into a light pole on Interstate 35 near Woodward Street.

Three of the four men were immediately detained as officers recovered two stolen handguns and narcotics from their vehicle.

Carlos Moreno-Ramirez, Kevin Moreno-Ramirez and Edwin Escobar-Alvarez, who are all from Austin, were charged with burglary of a vehicle, engaging in organized criminal activity, theft of a firearm and evading arrest. The driver of the vehicle, who has not yet been identified, is expected to face additional charges.
