AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department's Highway Enforcement Unit is asking for the public's help identifying a suspect in an alleged hit-and-run last week.
Police said a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the 60th block of East Avenue, near Rainey Street in Downtown Austin, at approximately 10:24 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The pedestrian, a 66-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver did not stop to help, according to police.
Anyone with any information about this incident or details of the suspect's vehicle is asked to submit a tip through Capital Area Crime Stoppers online or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
