AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating a homicide on East Riverside Drive early Monday morning.
APD said officers responded to a call of shots fired just before 1:30 a.m. on East Riverside, between the AutoZone and the Advanced Auto. When they arrived on the scene, officers found one person with multiple injuries. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are questioning a person of interest, but APD has not said if that person is a suspect.
A homicide investigation is underway, and APD said detectives will remain in the area for a couple of hours so that they can review the scene in the daylight. However, police said their presence should not impact commuters.
