AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is investigating a stabbing death that occurred Dec. 3.
According to APD, officers responded to a call just after 8:30 p.m. at the 7-Eleven store in the 10800 block of Research Boulevard.
Officers found the victim, identified as 48-year-old Chad Barron, lying on the ground inside the business with an apparent knife wound. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Investigators with the Homicide Unit and crime scene specialists determined that Barron had been stabbed at a nearby intersection and walked into the 7-Eleven where he collapsed. The suspect left the scene on foot.
