AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) issued a SWAT call in southeast Austin Friday afternoon.
According to APD, officers attempted to serve a warrant on a person who had "multiple felony warrants" at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Cromwell Circle.
The suspect barricaded himself inside the apartment, prompting the SWAT call.
The suspect continued to remain non-compliant, according to APD. SWAT then deployed a robot that released a chemical deterrent, which allowed officers to arrest the suspect.
APD did not release the suspect's name or age. A department spokesperson said they were not aware of any weapons in the apartment.
No one was in the apartment with the suspect at the time of arrest besides a small dog.
