BASTROP, Texas – Bastrop police said they arrested a 35-year-old man after they found him holding a hatchet inside a local business whose front door has been smashed.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Church's Chicken along Texas State Highway 71 around 2:30 a.m. on July 15 for a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived they saw the front door had been smashed. Officers also found Justin Crawford inside the building holding a hatchet.
Crawford arrested for felony burglary of a building. Online records show Crawford is in the Bastrop County Jail as of Wednesday afternoon. He is being held on $10,000 bond.
