BERTRAM, Texas -- A Bertram woman was found guilty of killing her husband Tuesday.
Karra Trichele Allen has been sentenced to life in prison after a Llano County jury found her guilty of shooting her husband in 2013 at their home, then called 911 to report it.
Investigators said Allen texted her friends to relay her plans to kill her husband a few hours before his death. The texts threatened to shoot and dismember her husband.
The Burnet County Sheriff's Office says the body of Brian Allen, 38, was found at the couple's home that night after his wife called authorities to say she shot her spouse. A transcript indicates Karra Allen told a dispatcher she fired in self-defense during an argument.
