BURNET COUNTY, Texas — One man remains in intensive care and another is behind bars after officials say he admitted to shooting the other in his yard.
The Burnet County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies were dispatched to a residence on the 5000 block of West Highway 29 on Saturday around 2:20 p.m. There, a 911 caller stated he had just shot someone in his yard.
Officials said the Burnet Fire Department and EMS units treated the victim, a 46-year-old male, for a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to Seton Williamson County where he underwent surgery and was later transferred to the ICU.
Charles Farrell, 62, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury. He was booked in the Burnet County Jail.
