The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers are investigating the death of a Gonzales County Sheriff’s Deputy in his home, which is located in Caldwell County, on Thursday night, according to Caldwell County Sheriff Daniel Law.
The victim has been identified as Sergeant Investigator Joshua Leopold of the Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office.

The Gonzales County Sheriff’s Office family is mourning the loss of Sergeant Investigator Joshua Leopold who passed away from injuries sustained in an incident which occurred last night. The incident is currently under investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Rangers. Any information regarding the investigation should be directed to their respective public information offices. We ask for prayers for Sergeant Leopold’s wife, children and family at this time.
