Driver fled after hitting pedestrian on Cameron Road, police say

Police said 42-year-old Corey Green was pronounced dead on the scene.

AUSTIN, Texas — Police have identified a man who was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Monday morning, June 24.

In an update on Wednesday, the Austin Police Department said 42-year-old Corey Green was hit by a vehicle in the 9200 block of Cameron Road, near Rundberg Lane, at approximately 6:04 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle left the scene immediately after the crash without stopping or calling 911, APD said.

Green was pronounced dead on the scene.

The incident is being investigated as Austin’s 35th fatal crash of 2024, resulting in 36 deaths for the year. On the date of this crash in 2023, 48 fatal crashes resulted in 48 deaths.
