Deputies seeking man accused of impersonating officer in Gillespie County

According to the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office, the driver asked for the impersonator's credentials after noticing the man's badge was placed on his hip.

GILLESPIE COUNTY, Texas — There is a man accused of impersonating an officer in Gillespie County and deputies are seeking the public's help in identifying him.

Deputies said a man stopped a driver Thursday along Highway 290 and Upper West Live Oak Road.

According to the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office, the driver asked for the impersonator's credentials after noticing the man's badge was placed on his hip.

The man allegedly then got upset with the driver and walked off.

The driver said the impersonator is rough 5 feet and 11 inches tall with short black hair. The man was also reportedly wearing khaki pants and a green polo shirt at the time of the incident.

Deputies want to remind drivers that if they're pulled over, real law enforcement officers will always have on proper uniform.
