DPS investigating crash that led to two deaths near Elgin

A two-vehicle crash occurred on State Highway 95 near Roemer Lane, leading to two deaths.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety and Crime Stoppers are looking for information about a two-vehicle crash that led to the death of two people on March 13.

At approximately 6:22 p.m., DPS responded to the crash on State Highway 95 near Roemer Lane. 

According to preliminary reports, a 2015 GMC Terrain was traveling southbound on SH-95 when an unknown vehicle turned in front of the driver. 

DPS said the driver of the 2015 GMC Terrain took evasive actions to avoid the unknown vehicle, and drove into the northbound lane, hitting a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu.

DPS is asking for the public's help in identifying the vehicle that was turning at the time of the crash.
