Travis County man sentenced for drug trafficking, firearm possession

DEL VALLE, Texas — A Travis County man is facing approximately 12.5 years in federal prison after an investigation conducted last year. 

According to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice, 48-year-old Anthony Robles of Del Valle, Texas, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and felon in possession of a firearm charges.

Last spring, court documents revealed Robles sold approximately nine ounces of methamphetamine to an agent who was working undercover. A day later, agents obtained a search warrant to enter his home, where they discovered more than 600 grams of methamphetamine, more than 500 grams of heroin, more than 50 grams of cocaine and one kilogram of fentanyl. 

They also located body armor, bulletproof vests, diamonds and 19 firearms. 

Following the investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Texas Department of Public Safety, law enforcement arrested Robles on Oct. 18, 2023. 

He pleaded guilty to two counts and now faces 150 months, or nearly 12 and a half years, behind bars.
